It is truly pathetic that liberals have become so embittered by being shut out of power that they are still focusing their energy on questioning the results of the election that happened last year. They still can’t seem to get over the fact that their “shoo-in” candidate Hillary Clinton lost and that political outsider Donald Trump won.
On ABC’s liberal propaganda platform The View, the show’s liberal co-hosts continued to gripe about the election. Thankfully, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld was on hand to talk some sense into them. Rumsfeld needed only two words to completely shut down one of Joy Behar’s flawed arguments.
Behar brought up the worn-out liberal talking point that Clinton should have won the election because she got more total votes. Said Behar, seeming to ignore how the American election system is set up, to Rumsfeld, “Well, he [Trump] lost by more than three million votes in the popular vote. He won the electoral vote.”
Answered Donald Rumsfeld, simply, “What counts?” Responded a hesitant Behar, “Well, the electoral vote counts.” Said a deadpan Rumsfeld, “I thought so.” Ouch! After that foolish argument had been neutralized, Behar and fellow liberal Sunny Hostin decided to talk about how the witch hunt into Trump’s supposed connection to Russia is somehow the same as President Richard Nixon’s Watergate scandal that led to his resignation.
Commented Rumsfeld, “I think suggesting that we are at a point that approximates Watergate I think is a stretch. Why do you want to engage in hypotheticals? This man was elected president of the United States.” He added, “There is an investigation on the subject you’ve cited. Which is perfectly appropriate. Nothing has been concluded. I have a sense you might be jumping to conclusions.” Are you glad that Donald Rumsfeld went on The View and set the liberal hosts straight? Watch below:
