Democrats and their Republican helpers in the political establishment have embarked upon what is clearly a campaign to intimidate President Donald Trump and his associates. The liberal Washington Post recently reported that special counsel Robert Mueller in investigating Trump for obstruction of justice, and has moved his probe inside the White House.
Trump’s Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson is not falling for this intimidation tactic, and recently explained why Mueller’s politically motivated witch hunt investigation is destined to fail.
Said Carson about Mueller recently in an interview with Fox News Radio, “I would give him the chance to see if he could do that because if there’s nothing there — he’s not gonna find anything anyway.” He added, “That has been the case now for nearly a year — there’s nothing to find, that’s why they keep going down these empty rabbit holes. That will continue to be the case because there’s nothing there.”
As much as Carson is dismissing Mueller’s probe as a pointless nuisance, he concedes how it may disrupt President Trump’s ability to carry out his agenda as President. Stated Carson, “It’s frustrating because it keeps us from getting to the things that need to be done, and I’m not sure that that isn’t the real reason for it.”
Others have been taking a more hard-line approach toward Mueller. Said former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, “Mueller is now clearly the tip of the deep state spear aimed at destroying or at a minimum undermining and crippling the Trump presidency. Mueller is setting up a dragnet of obstruction, financial questions and every aspect of Trump’s life and his associates lives. Very dangerous. The brazen redefinition of Mueller’s task tells you how arrogant the deep state is and how confident it is it can get away with anything.” Do you think Carson is right and that Mueller should just be ignored because he’s harmless? Or should he be removed?
