CNN has been in trouble with the public ever since they blackmailed a private citizen into deleting his social media posts. The reddit user hana**holesolo created the famous WWE/CNN Trump video. CNN tracked down the creator and threatened to expose his identity. The man made it clear that if his identity was exposed it would ruin his life.
However, CNN is still threatening to reveal his identity. They are not listening to people’s criticisms. Instead they are doubling down and threatening to reveal the names of more random people online who they think are ‘racist’.
“I would have been comfortable with them saying here’s who this knucklehead is. You know, this is the guy who has posted these bigoted, racist, anti-Semitic posts. And by the way, you know who says they were racist, bigoted and anti-Semitic? The guy who wrote them,” said CNN contributor Michael Smerconish.
“If he continues to be a racist, if he continues to be a bigot, if he continues to be anti-Semitic, they’re going to out him. Yeah, I like that. He should be outed. You know, anonymity gives people beer muscles for bad behavior … I’m sick and tired of those who foment hate and bigotry and hide. I’d like to see all their faces. If you act like a HansA**holeSolo, then I would like to know who you are,” he added.
CNN analyst Kirsten Powers said people don’t have the ‘right’ to be anonymous on the internet. “I would have released his name and picture. I agree CNN was restrained. People do not have a ‘right’ to stay anonymous so they can spew their racist, misogynist, homophobic garbage,” she tweeted.
